RENEWING CHURCHES THROUGH PRAYER: THIS WEEK

Prayer Focus on Congregations in Missouri, Connecticut, Virginia, Illinois, Ohio, and Alabama As you pray this week we would ask that you would bring before the Lord:
SECOND CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH, NEW LONDON, CONN. .
	This beautiful stone church founded in 1835 with strong roots in the historic whaling community, is now a multi-racial congregation with tremendous potential to reach their city for Christ. Pray that in their search process, God will bring His person to provide spirit filled leadership. Pray that they will be able to use their strong historic identity in this strategic city to be an effective witness for Jesus Christ.
> ST JOHN'S UCC, MANCHESTER, MISSOURI.
	Located in an affluent and growing suburb of St. Louis with 200 years of rich history, pray for St. John's as they seek to become effective in reaching their community of 20,000 for Christ. Pray that God will pour out his Holy Spirit upon them to see their city as He sees it and to provide a new pastor with a passion for Jesus Christ.
>ST. PAUL'S UCC, ST. MARY'S, OHIO.
	A large beautiful sanctuary and church facility dominant on the town landscape, this is a congregation that announces that it is seeking a pastor who will "be strong in times of difficulty, faithful and loving, may the Lord hear their prayer and it be ours as well.

> ST. PETER’S UCC IN CHAMPAIGN, ILLINOIS.
	Golf courses and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign are not far from this steepled brick church that sits atop a hill with a large educational annex. Pray that the Lord will provide a pastor with energy and enthusiasm to lead this historic congregation into a renewal of living out God’s call to serve the church family, the community and the world for Christ’s glory. Pray that its varied worship services lead people into the presence of the Lord and that the Wednesday Intergenerational Nurture Night (WINN) will continue to strengthen families within and without the congregation.

> MATTINEAGUE CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH IN WEST SPRINGFIELD, MASS
	This 154-year old multigenerational congregation with a contemporary building needs prayer as it boldly seeks to be a friendly and welcoming place that seeks to follow Jesus Christ and serve God in the wider community. Pray that its strong commitment to missions includes the proclamation of the Gospel in word as well as deed. Pray for their search for an effective preacher and strong leader and that the Lord will bring spiritual growth & vitality to its members.

	Located in a small Pennsylvania Dutch community northeast of Reading, this family-oriented church seeks to grow spiritually and to serve God in their community and the world. Join their prayers for a senior pastor to help them realize this vision of that each of their 1200 members would find a vibrant faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior.
